I have had the kettle for about 1.5 years, in all that time it has performed decently, except for one thing.
After exactly one year (coincidence?) the kettle began to smell suspiciously of burnt plastic. Sensing something wrong, I decided to take a look and maybe fix what went wrong inside. As a result, after taking it apart I found out that the terminal of the heating element was loose and having a bad contact, it heated up and melted the heat shrinking on itself, so that the heat shrinking was charred (picture attached). As a result, the terminal tightened with pliers, heat shrinkage updated. So far it has been working for more than 5 months - no remarks and smells of plastic.
The second kettle, my relatives, works the same way, everything is good, no odors were not noticed, apparently I am so "lucky", but on the Internet I met a couple of articles on this subject with about the same kettles.
Bottom line: I am satisfied with the kettle, but REDMOND has some work to do.

Advantages:
- Beautiful light display of water temperature
- Temperature holding mode with backlight showing current temperature
- the ability to adjust any color of backlight, and even a specific scale
Overall, the kettle is beautiful, comfortable, does not smell of plastic at all. But there are things that could be improved (water level, bluetooth)

Beautiful backlight, fast water heating, control from the phone, not too noisy. I had a long time to choose a new kettle and settled on this one. Expectations have been met! I liked the kettle for everything. The control from the phone was very convenient. You can boil water from another room, heat water to the desired temperature. The backlight is bright.
When boiling, I have never noticed any extraneous odors. The kettle is inexpensive, but the functionality is quite good. One possibility to control it from the phone is worth it!
